/Short Selling
Normal investing is "buy low, sell high." This completely flips the script. You sell a share you don't even own, first hoping the price crashes so you can buy it back at a lower price. You return the borrowed shares to your broker and pocket the price difference. In India, regular retail traders can only do this during the intraday session. You absolutely have to buy back the shares before the market closes, or the broker will forcefully square off your position and slap you with a heavy penalty.
