/CD Full Form
The full form of the CD is Certificate of Deposit.
Banks issue these when they want to borrow money from large investors for a specific period. You give them a lump sum, and they lock it up for a few months or years to give you a slightly better interest rate than a normal FD. The catch is that you absolutely cannot break it before the maturity date to get your cash back. Since the minimum investment limit is quite high, most retail investors skip it and stick to standard fixed deposits.
