/Share
Think of a company as a giant pizza. A share is simply one single slice of that pizza. When you buy even one share, you legally own a tiny fraction of that business's assets and future profits. The more slices you buy, the bigger your ownership percentage becomes. Every single share comes with a fixed face value printed on it, usually ₹10, ₹5, or ₹1 in India, though you usually pay a much higher market price to actually buy it. Holding these shares also gives you the right to vote on major company decisions during the annual general meetings.
