Dividend Yield

What is Dividend Yield?

Don't just look at the total rupee amount a company pays out. You need to see how much cash you are getting compared to what you actually paid for the share today. You can calculate the annual dividend per share by using the current market price. A stock priced at ₹100 paying a ₹5 dividend has a 5% yield. It is a favorite metric for retirees who want a steady passive income stream rather than betting on crazy stock price growth.
